Food tips

Kitchen Tip : Solid disk elements and radiant elements under glass stove tops are easier to clean than conventional electric coil elements, but they take longer to heat up and use more electricity.

Microwave Tip : Use your microwave as often as possible in the summer. You'll be more comfortable and save on air conditioning costs.

Losing weight

The Atkins’ Diet
Although it originated back in the 1960s, the atkins diet has been one of the most popular weight loss systms over the last few years. Although not accepted by all scientists, it claims to allow fat reduction whilst allowing many foods that are not normally available to dieters, eg beef and some dairy produce.
Unlike other diets, on the atkins diet you eat protein and fat, avoiding carbohydrates almost completely. It is referred to as a low carbohydrate, high protein, weight loss regime.
With this diet, the foods you should avoid are processed and refined sugar, milk, white bread, starchy vegetables, white rice and white flour, amongst them, cereals and pasta made from white flour.
With the atkins diet the foods you are encouraged to eat are nutrient-rich unprocessed foods like meat, fish & poultry. You also can eat shellfish, regular full fat cheese, butter and olive oil.

The Atkins’ Diet Theory
The controversial theory behind the atkins diet is that if we eat fewer carbohydrates, we will utilise the fat we already carry and we will get rid of some fat
